Fiat Cr.32
Although it was totally obsolete by the start of the Second World War, the C.R.32 saw much action in several theatres of operations. It was a refinement of the C.R.30, and it was smaller and faster. The C.R.32 was an excellent fighter for its day, fast, robust and nimble. During the Spanish Civil War it was the most important fighter in General Franco´s air force and performed very well but this had the drawback that Italy neglected the development of modern fighters. 1309 were built, including license production in Spain after the war.
Stubbornly sticking to biplanes, Italy continued on to build the C.R.42 "Falco" which had the rather dubious distinction of being the last biplane fighter built by any of the combatants in World War Two.
On a different perspective, I myself have long been searching for an interesting, fun-to-fly CFS2 plane with which to fly across the Atlantic with. I downloaded several perspective planes (even the Spirit of St. Louis) but none of them appealed to me. Then I found the new C.R.32, and although I was skeptical as I was downloading it, the plane proved to be a superb aircraft. For aerobatics it can't be beat. So ... I gave it a 710-hp Lycoming engine instead of the 600-hp Fiat and increased the fuel capacity, plus a 60-gal drop tank, and although I could barely get the overloaded thing off the ground, I made it from Portugal to New York (with a rest stop at the Azores) in 16 hours. It took me about a week to do it all in 1 or 2 hour segments, but it was a lot of fun. I seriously recommend this aircraft.
Note: The addon available here is the original unmodified version with 600-hp Fiat and standard fuel capacity.
This is another excellent plane by Corrado La Posta, who is the author of several other superb aircraft available here at CFS2 Pilots Addon HQ.
